Happy Easter

Easter weekend has been a bit cooler than early April but I hope you have managed to enjoy it. Our Walking group enjoyed a sunny day walking round Richmond and the Gardening Group have been attending the rose beds by Sanderstead Library as the weeds are now all appearing. If you are involved with one of our Groups, and have taken a good photos of an activity you took part in and would recommend to others, please send them to our web editors, Monica and Sheila H.

Our Secretary, Sally is doing a great job in keeping us all updated on the National Federation of the WI and the Surrey Federation WI’s news and initiatives. Please read Sally’s emails on this as we do not intend to repeat all the detail of the information in the WI meetings, to allow time for members to have a chat and cuppa before our Speaker.

I am told that at the April meeting Su and Sally successfully led the meeting. Thank you Su and Sally. Our Speaker, Gareth, talked about the local area and shared his collection of postcards of South Croydon, Selsdon and Sanderstead. At the moment there is an interesting photographic exhibition on Selsdon at the Seldson Library and I urge you to go and have a look before it closes on 2 May.

Our May meeting will reference the 80th anniversary of VE Day with our Speaker on the history of the RAF at Biggin Hill. We also have a Plant stall at the May meeting and hope you can contribute with a plant or buying one or two.

Happy Easter,

Carol.
